The Barco MGD 221 is a medium-resolution 21 inchportrait grayscale display that combines digital image quality with grayscale accuracy. The display has been especially designed for medical imaging applications, such as PACS and digital radiology, and renders images with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1600.

The MGD 221 features the TrueGrey? and TrueWhite? electronic system for color stability, the WAVE-technology for unequaled image fidelity and Barco’s unique calibration routine for image conformance and consistency over time and across displays.
TrueGrey? and TrueWhite?:
The TrueGrey? and TrueWhite? electronic system constantly checks the lowest black and white levels of the images displayed and provides unequaled image fidelity and grayscale stability over time and across displays.
Luminance Uniformity Correction:
Luminance Uniformity Correction compensates for the non-uniform luminance distribution on the entire CRT screen, and guarantees a uniform dynamic range over the total surface of the medical image.
Uniform and Digital Focus:
The digital focus and astigmatism correction of Barco’s WAVE-technology result in unequaled image fidelity and sharpness from corner to corner, combined with screen-wide perfect geometry.
Image Conformance and Consistency:
Barco’s grayscale CRT displays feature a unique calibration routine by means of an optional external sensor and the MediCal? Pro image conformance and consistency software. Quality and consistency of the image can be automatically checked and corrected in case the system’s results differ from the reference values
